AsiaInfo-Linkage Shortlisted for Two Telecoms.com Awards

Fitting End to Successful 12 Months at AsiaInfo-Linkage

Telecoms.com has recently announced the shortlist for its 2014 Awards "Recognizing Innovation and Excellence in the Global Communications Industry" and we are proud to announce that AsiaInfo-Linkage has been shortlisted in two categories: 'Best Use of Cloud Services by a Telco' for our Cloud-based Operation Platform Container (COPC) and 'Mobile Pricing Innovation' for our Real-Time Self Service (RTSS) solution.

It's quite incredible to think that only a year ago we were about to embark on the international launch of our VerisTM suite of BSS products. Our targets for the year were admittedly ambitious, leading some to doubt the practicality of them. However, with hard work and a zealous attitude we managed to achieve every one: from landing prominent keynote speeches, winning TMF Catalyst awards to even landing a major BSS transformation project in Europe and establishing new system integration partnerships.

Our goals 12 months ago were warranted: entering Europe with proven technology from China, we knew that our innovative products provided unique solutions to the problems currently debilitating European operators. For example, our Real-Time Self Service solution, which has been shortlisted for the Mobile Pricing Innovation Award, offers a way for operators to finally monetize mobile data effectively: through a fully customizable interface (including web self-care and smartphone app) RTSS uses advanced real-time convergent charging and policy control capabilities of Veris Billing to deliver a revolutionary customer experience.

RTSS allows customers to transfer resources (eg ‘Skype minutes', ‘YouTube megabytes'...) to their family and friends; transform resources from one type to another; control their family members' spend per month or per device; turbo boost specific apps temporarily; and define their own tariffs and add-on packages without creating complexity in the operator's IT systems. Operators can choose to charge a small fee for use of these features, whilst the self-service capability vastly reduces CAPEX. In fact, according to research conducted by industry consultants Northstream, RTSS can help operators in Western Europe realize about €5 billion, in just 12 months!

With a hotly-anticipated product launch scheduled for Mobile World Congress 2014, the next 12 months at AsiaInfo look just as promising. We are dedicated to delivering world-class, innovative solutions to our growing list of customers and will therefore be targeting the significant tenders, keynotes and awards that 2014 has to offer.
